We as a nation are going through a stressful time as a result of COVID-19. We have been impacted in many areas of our lives that most of us were not prepared for. The impact might be physical, mental or financial. We all need a way to manage the stress to ensure that the tension it has created does not create problems that we will still be dealing with after COVID-19 is no longer a threat. Stress can lead to violence or abuse within families. In the case of COVID-19 stress can be intensified because of the isolation as well as being stuck at home for long periods of time.
Depression can also become more of an issue during this time because people might loose hope. As we see the number of cases climbing and the death rate increasing it can make us think about no change in sight for the near future. Some of us might experience a level of anxiety reaching past the normal day to day thoughts of concern. Whatever our upheavals are we can learn to manage them through therapy. .
